Makerspace Facilitator Fellowship

Do you enjoy making, experimenting, and learning by doing? 🙌
Great activities and workshops don't happen overnight. They are imagined, tested, redesigned, tested again, and improved through collaboration. That's why we're launching the Makerspace Facilitator Fellowship—a 5-week program for makers, creatives, designers, educators, aged 18 to 35, who want to help develop new hands-on workshops and learning experiences. Throughout the program, you'll work with other participants and mentors to prototype, test, and improve workshop concepts while exploring new tools, materials, and making techniques.

💡Throughout This Program You’ll Receive:

★ Direct guidance and mentorship

★ Access to Fab Lab Egypt's space and equipment

★ Extra access bundle to Fab Lab Egypt workspace for personal work/projects

★ Dedicated time for development

★ Classes on specific topics 🎖 By the end of the program, you'll gain practical experience in workshop development, expand your making skills, contribute to Fab Lab Egypt's future workshop portfolio, and have the opportunity to join our facilitator community. The program concludes with an Open Event, where you get to facilitate and test the developed workshops with the public and gather live reactions and feedback.

🔍 What We Are Looking For:

→ Committed: You can dedicate the time needed to attend the sessions, work independently between them, and complete the program. → Open to Feedback: You enjoy sharing your ideas, listening to different perspectives, and improving your work through feedback. → Patient Experimenter: You understand that great ideas take time, testing, and several rounds of improvement. → Curious Learner: You're excited to explore new tools, techniques, and skills that can strengthen your workshop idea. → Creative Problem Solver: When something doesn't work, you're willing to experiment, adapt, and find another way forward. → Independent & Proactive: You can manage your own progress, take initiative, and keep developing your idea between sessions. → Community-Oriented: You're happy to collaborate with others, exchange ideas, and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

📢 Before Starting Your Application..

Feel free to answer in the language you're most comfortable with.

You can complete your application in either Arabic or English; there's no preference. What matters most is that your answers genuinely reflect who you are, your experiences, and the way you think. You're welcome to use AI as a supporting tool. It can help you organize your thoughts, check your writing, or even edit your introduction video. However, we'd like your application to sound like you, not a perfectly polished version of you. Honest, authentic answers help us understand your personality, how you think, and how you approach making and learning.
